Mens Weekend - March 3-4, 2012
Womens Weekend - March 17-18, 2012
For more information, call the parish office at 484-6609.
CRHP began as a renewal experience by men in Cleveland, OH in April, 1969, specifically
for American parishes. As the process continued, wives of men who had participated
grew more interested and the first women's team began in September, 1970. From this
beginning, through parishioner and pastoral relocation, through word of mouth without
official advertising, CRHP has officially grown into 26 states and Italy. After
attending a CRHP weekend at a nearby parish, Jim Burns and Janet Didier petitioned St.
Jude Parish to have CRHP brought home to our parish. Through the prayers of
countless people and the time, talent and treasure of past participants, Christ continues
to Renew His Parish here at St. Jude.
Parish Renewal is whatever furthers conversion and community, ministry and
prayer, healing and holiness, spiritual growth and gospel service.
The next Mens Weekend will be March 3-4, 2012
Saturday, 7:45 a.m. - Sunday, 3:45 p.m.
For more information, call the parish at 484-6609.
A current list of participants signed up to attend the weekend will
be available in the back of church until Sunday at 9:00 a.m.
Expertise in group dynamics, knowledge of motivational techniques,
experience in public speaking and training in psychology and theology are NOT
requirements. Prayerfulness, loving concern, and simple service are.
The next Women’s Weekend will be in March 17-18
Saturday, 7:45 a.m. - Sunday, 3:45 p.m.
For more information, call the parish at 484-6609.
A current list of participants signed up to attend the weekend will
be available in the back of church until Sunday at 9:00 a.m.
This specific team commitment develops, not by self-serving attempts to
change others into our image of what they should be, but by allowing ourselves to change
so we can lovingly serve the needs of others.
- Who is invited?
YOU!
Are you an adult (someone out of high school?)
Do you live within the parish boundaries?
Are you an established parishioner?
Are you a new parishioner?
Do you go to church regularly?
Has it been a while since you set foot in St. Jude?
If you can answer "Yes" to any of these questions, YOU
are invited!
- Why should I attend a CRHP weekend?
The most common reasons given are:
All that great free food,
a night away, it won't cost you a dime to attend,
meet and connect with people from your parish, and
help you open the Word of God and see it in a whole new way.
All of which are TRUE!
The official goal of CRHP is:
Bringing together priest and people in a very casual but effective Christian atmosphere
of sharing and dialogue. Reconciling the individual with the Lord through personal repentence and
conversion. Healing the wounds between various factions and spiritualities. Communicating
fundamental truths of faith experientially. Allowing everyone to focus on what unites us - not what
separates us. Inviting Jesus to be a the center of a Spirit-filled community.
- How much does it cost?
Absolutely nothing! All expenses for your renewal
experience are paid by team members and past participants. CRHP is completely
self-funded (no contributions to Saint Jude Parish are used for this ministry).
- Who conducts the weekends?
The renewal team is comprised of ordinary lay people like you who have
attended the previous weekend.
- How long is the weekend?
Participants and team members gather Saturday morning at 7:45 a.m.
The weekend continues through Sunday afternoon until usually 3:45 p.m. Plenty
of time is available for breaks, personal reflection, fellowship, and fun!
- Where will I sleep?
Sleeping accommodations are in the classrooms of our parish school where
the weekend is held. Mats are provided and you are asked to bring your pillow,
blankets, or a sleeping bag, as well as any personal items you may need such as
toiletries. All facilities are wheel-chair and handicap accessible.
- What about meals?
Don't worry. You will never go hungry on a CRHP weekend! Meals
and snacks are provided by current and past team members. If you have a special diet
(diabetic, vegetarian, etc.) please let us know when you register so we will be able to
provide for your needs.
- What should I wear?
Casual and comfortable clothing is appropriate for both Saturday and
Sunday.
