For many years, St. Jude Catholic School has opened its doors to instructing children in the Catholic faith and providing a quality academic education - both which give a firm foundation for the future.
Established in March 1929 as Sharon Terrace School, the Sisters of Providence taught 105 students in grades one through four. When school opened that fall, classes expanded to include grades five through eight with enrollment tripling, growing and building despite the Depression. Today, St. Jude Catholic School educates students in grades preschool, kindergarten, and one through eight. Enrollment has expanded to over 500 students, while maintaining small class sizes.
Eventually, St. Jude's parishioners built a new church leaving the old church building free to house the school. The beautiful Spanish-style structure now houses grades kindergarten through eight, state-of-the-art computer lab, library, auditorium, gymnasium, and classes in music, art, band, and drama.
