| Members of the parish meet with grieving families to
choose the readings and music for the funeral liturgy. After the funeral service, lunch is
hosted by volunteers from the parish in the Parish Hall. Because of the large number of
funerals conducted each year at Saint Jude, volunteers willing to provide food for a
funeral dinner or to help serve the dinner are always needed. For more information, please

| St. Jude’s offers a grief support group for people who are dealing with the loss
of a loved one. The people who gather for the support group are
people who are currently working through the pain and loss of death and who gather in the
name of Jesus to draw strength from Him and from each other in prayer, reflection,
discussion or just simply by being with each other. The group is not a professional
counseling session. It is a gathering of grieving people who come together in the promise
of God’s love.
Anyone working through grief is welcome to attend any or all of the group’s
meetings. The Grief Support Group has been supported by the Social Action Committee, which has also begun to build
a small resource center of books and reading materials for people in grief. These
materials are available at each month’s meeting.

Light Weigh is a 12 week program of spiritual growth and learning peace with
food through a series of weekly videos, workbooks for daily journaling with
an emphasis on the St. Ignatian review, and other aids to spiritual growth,
including audio tapes and prayer books. During the program, we learn about a
different saint every week, as well as discussing "rock facts", which are
elements of our Catholic faith. This program is grounded in Scripture,
Tradition, and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. It is open to all, but
is a Catholic program. The cost of the program is $125, which covers the
cost of the materials. This is a one time fee, and the program is designed
to be repeated at no further cost.
Light Weigh meetings are held at St. Jude. Meeting places/times will vary
with each session depending on space availability and times, as well as
schedules of the members and coordinator. See bulletin for further details.

| Parish Eucharistic ministers take Sunday communion to all
sick and homebound parishioners, including those in nursing homes or hospitals. Communion
is also taken monthly by one of the parish priests. Call the Parish Office if you know
someone in need of this service. The parish needs more volunteers to participate in this

| Remembering Church is designed for inactive Catholics who
are interested in exploring a return to active participation in the church. Weekly
sessions help search for answers to faith questions and study church teaching from an
adult perspective. Because we gather in a small group, sessions can be designed to address
the specific questions and situations of those attending. Contact: Mary Pohlman at

| The Respect Life Committee helps the parish focus on
greater respect for all life: the unborn, those with disabilities, and the elderly.

| The men and women in this society help the poor in our
area with financial assistance and budgeting. They also deliver holiday food baskets,
visit those in hospitals, nursing homes and the homebound. The Saint Vincent de Paul
Society meets on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month. The help is provided confidentially to recipients referred to the
society by parish priests and their administrative assistants.

Seekers (Job Ministry)

| The mission of The Seekers is to
provide assistance for the unemployed and those considering job changes through group
based spiritual support and sharing career assistance. To develop and maintain a system of
communicating available employment opportunities to potential employees within the Saint

| The Social Action Committee seeks to practice the
spiritual and corporal works of mercy by contacting newcomers, comforting the grieving,
assisting the needy by administering the parish tithe. Members also strive to coordinate
"hands-on' service projects for those in need, organize blood donations, and educate
the parish in areas of social justice. Monthly meetings often include speakers from local

| The parish provides transportation for those who need it
for Saturday evening and Sunday morning Masses and other parish functions. Contact: Barb Stemen at

| Known traditionally as ushers, these ministers welcome people, assist
them in finding seats, take up the collection, and make sure that people receive bulletins
as they leave church. They also pay attention to other details of making people feel
comfortable. This ministry is open to men,
